What We Do

Our Purposes
The purposes of the San Francisco Tyee Club are:
-
To promote interest in angling for one of the greatest fishes that swims—the King Salmon, (Tyee).
-
To promote the ideals of sportsmanship as distinguished from the promiscuous taking of fish.
-
To preserve, for ourselves and our posterity, the continuity of the salmon.
-
To cooperate with the Department of Fish and Game of the State of California to better enforce the laws in effect.
-
To standardize fishing tackle.
-
To properly authenticate and record the weights and measurements of fish taken on registered tackle from waters within the jurisdiction of the Club.
-
And last, to discourage angling that is not in accord with good sportsmanship.

Scholarship
The Annual Scholarship consisting of a cash Grant of a minimum of $1000 is awarded to outstanding graduate students seeking a Master of Science degree in Fisheries at an accredited school.
